Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude for reading this letter. I would like to make you aware of our not for profit organization called People Point. The organization is based in Hillfields at St Peter’s Community Centre. Our aim is to contribute to the service of eradicating poverty and isolation in the area. We work alongside the local communities to build and strengthen their confidence and promote social inclusion.

We believe caring for each other is also what you are passionate about.  We therefore appeal for your help to collect used school uniforms for asylum seeker and refugee children.  As you may know this community is not allowed to engage themselves in any employment. This is the government law on asylum seekers and refugees in our country. This has and can cause a negative emotional  impact on the families. When parents are unable to provide for their children, this can cause great stress on family life.

As the school year draws to a close, often it is ‘out with the old, in with the new’. I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to the parents who will be buying brand new uniforms to donate the old uniforms to our organization so we may distribute directly to the families in need.
